Title: Christian Heroes Then and Now

Author: Janet and George Benge

Who Should Read This: Parents with or without children.

What I Like About It: Christian Heroes Then and Now is a series of books. Each book is the biography of a Christian hero (go figure). I have not read them all, but I have read a handful – and I have never been disappointed! These books are geared towards children 8-12, so it goes without saying, it is a smooth and easy read as an adult. But don’t let that fool you, you will highly benefit from these books yourself. It’s hard to not leave challenged and motivated when you enter the adventure of those who have gone before us and done extraordinary things for God!

When it comes to reading these to your children if they are about 0-5 years old, I would say… don’t. Just be a little more patient, and start building a library of them (like for their first birthday present when they only care about the wrapping anyway!).

If you have children ages 5-8 they may sit through small chunks of these books, but I think you will have much more success if you buy the audio version. Though it’s a bit more expensive, I found it captured the attention of my 6 and 7 year old.

I have no kids above age 7, but once I do, you better believe they will be reading these!
